Château Rouquette
Prizes
During the 1980s Rouquette won a number of prizes. There was then a long gap under the next owner, who bought the property in 1989, when the wine was not entered in competitions . We waited a couple of years until we had established the style we wanted and entered our first competition with our 2000 vintage. The prizes below refer to Château Rouquette, unless otherwise stated.
2000 Vintage

Grande Médaille d'Or (big gold!) at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles in 2002. This was the first time we'd entered a competition; so, it was a great surprise to be one of 25 out of the 3851 entrants to win this award.
Médaille de Bronze at the Concours de Bordeaux in 2002.
Highly Recommended (4 stars) by Decanter in March 2003 - for Cuvée Merigot. Tasting notes: Lots of ripe fruit on the nose, cherry flavours with oak. Well structured with firm tannin, good fruit characters, undergrowth and herbaceous on finish. 2-5 years. (March 2003)
