The first of these newsletters, in 2002, forecast that the
measures taken by the "wine bureaucracy" of Bordeaux, the bewildering
proliferation of semi-government bodies, would do little to halt the
deteriorating
economics and would possibly make it worst. Sadly, this has proved correct,
although a pick up in world demand and lower worldwide harvests have provided a
respite in the last two years.
